Perfect World International is an free MMORPG that has taken the English speaking world by storm.  Originally the title was only available in the far east, however, an international port of the game has finally arrived.  PW has been compared to WoW in many respects, but unlike WoW is currently free to play.  The game does allow participants to purchase “Zen” in their on-line store that allows the purchase of various upgrades, pets, and mountable allies.  If anyone is interested in doing some questing please look me up – Meat Grinder

Yes, the Nvidia 9 series has officially arrived. Nothing to get too excited about yet, since the the only card they released is the 9600, which is basically a 8800GT. Either way the higher end cards should be on their way shortly – all you gamers enjoy.

I think we’re close enough to start the countdown… I must admit I’m really looking forward to wrapping up school.

Update: Lots has changed since my original post concerning the latest format war. Last month Toshiba officially announced that they would stop production of their HD-DVD players. This was a huge win for Sony in the format war and soon after the announcement, major movie companies like Paramount and Dreamworks made agreements to start using Blue-Ray. Good news for all those PS3 owners out there!

Paramount and Dreamworks pictures announced today that they will no longer support Sony’s Blue-ray disc format and instead will begin selling their titles exclusively on the HD DVD format. This is just another chapter on the current war on the next generation video format. While the announcement certainly delivers a blow to Blue-ray, the battle is far from over. If I did just pay $500 for a PS3, however, news like this wouldn’t make me too happy. Especially since one of the main selling points of the unit is it’s Blue-ray capabilities

Check this huge glitch I came across today when playing Crysis – a tank somehow got suspended in air and started shooting at me… well until I blew it up of course

So I recently got the game Crysis and am so blown away by it that I had to share.  I think the best thing to do if you’ve never seen the game is to check out the trailer. 

The game isn’t for a computer without some serious hardware however.  Unless you have made a fairly decent gaming machine your computer may choke when trying to run this thing, but if you can run it wow is it amazing.

It seems as though the only time I’ve been posting lately is when I make a big purchase, but this one is just too exciting not to write about. I recently purchased a custom PC. I currently have it dual booting both Windows XP and Vista Business Edition. Basically this thing runs anything, and I am very impressed with its performance. Accompanying the new rig is a 22″ Acer Wide screen display perfect for all your gaming and editing needs

Don’t worry I’m still here, but as most of you can imagine I’ve been ridiculously busy with everything going on between work and school. Both, however, are going quite well, and I’ve really been enjoying my time back at FGP. Hopefully I’ll start posting updates a little more regularly.

Last week I purchased a new Lacie 500 gig external hard drive. I must say it feels good carrying around 500 gigs, and for the time being, all my storage needs are satisfied. I’ve also got my eye on some serious new hardware for my gaming rig – possibly more to come on that later. Until next time…..

While traveling the vast info sources of the Internet I came upon a small new start up company called Virtual Ubiquity. The company’s main product is called Buzzword. In short, Buzzword is a word processor that is run through Adobe’s Flash player in a web browser. Similar to Google Docs, Buzzword provides all the basic functions of a word processor, allowing any document to be saved online and accessed from any computer with an internet connection. The goal is to open up a whole new world of office productivity that allows users to access, share, and store all information online so that is can be accessed and edited in real time by anyone, anywhere. If you are interested in trying out Buzzword, you’ll have to request an invitation since it is still in Beta. I’ve tried it myself, and I must say that I’m fairly impressed. The biggest pro in my mind is that Buzzword allows you to both upload and export any document in Microsoft Word’s .doc, .xml, or the Rich Text format (.rtf). You can request an invitation here
